I've been meaning to visit here for a while, in fact I did visit in the past but they were closed during their stated hours so I never went back, so as they were promoting a sale I thought I would make an effort to take a look. The shop itself is on the top floor of a quiet office block (in previous life the Belper North Mill and a world heritage site). It has a fairly small stock and seems to be mostly cherry picked things that you don't often see elsewhere and usually in reasonable grades, there doesn't appear to be much in the way of bashed records or things that are not so collectable (meaning you are browsing though boxes of £50 records so not likely to take a lot back home!). I was mostly interested in the reggae section and it is almost exclusively ska and rock steady, almost nothing after 1970. Prices are about 25-50% what you would expect to pay elsewhere but they seem to have quite a lot of local customers who are happy to pay the extra for not having to travel.
The sale itself was disappointing, it promised records £1-10 and most were closer to the £10 mark and things you could pick up any time off Discogs for half the sale price. if they do it again I probably wouldn't bother.
