「The Big Apple maestro brings his soul-stirring selections to Tokyo」 Landing in the middle of Japan’s Golden Week public holiday, Contact is proud to present a true legend of dance music. Danny Krivit’s story reaches right back to the early days of New York club culture. Cutting his teeth in the 1970s, he quickly became embedded in the city’s disco scene, playing legendary night spots such as Paradise Garage and Danceteria, and holding down an infamous residency at The Roxy as hip hop emerged in the 1980s. He also formed the Body & Soul collective with Francois K and Joe Claussell in the 90s – a celebrated haven for impassioned dance music played by the best in the business, and his tireless devotion to the art form continues to this day. Supporting Danny in Studio X is Dazzle Drums, a duo with 7 releases including one they’ve released from BBE. Contact floor features Kamma from Amsterdam, who recently appeared at a party hosted by Rush Hour. DJ Kawasaki, founder of a new label that features disco sounds, will be supporting the act. Midori Aoyama, founder of TSUBAKI FM as well as promoting his own parties, will join the lineup along with Yuri Nagahori. On the Foyer floor, ample support will be provided by a strong team of committed crate diggers including Kenichi Aono from Beams Records, Santra Brothers and Ryo Nakahara. This will be a golden opportunity to catch some incredibly knowledgeable heads spinning their most precious wax with the spirit of joy and passion that makes for the most memorable party experiences. |
